Principal's Message
Stacie MoncriefDear Gilbert Park Parents, Students, and Families,
Welcome to the 2011/2012 school year. My name is Stacie Moncrief and I am honored to be the new principal at this outstanding school. I have worked in the David Douglas School District for 12 years. Over this time I have been a first grade teacher at Lincoln Park, Reading First Coach at Ventura Park, Title I and Language Arts Coordinator at the District Office, and Principal at North Powellhurst School. I am excited to be at Gilbert Park with an amazing staff and community.
This coming Fall we welcome back two kindergarten classrooms from North Powellhurst. We will have 22 classrooms in all serving Kindergarten through Fifth grade.
School Supply List
2011-2012 Gilbert Park School Supply List
There is a one-time $25 supply fee per child. This fee is for consumable supplies that will be used throughout the year. It replaces the usual supply list.
Please DO NOT purchase any supplies or send any supplies from home. Your child’s teacher will purchase supplies over the summer. This fee is NOT optional.
A community supply method will be used. There are many benefits to this method for the parent, child, and classroom teacher. It will save parents money because we are able to buy in bulk, allowing us to purchase a larger variety and better quality of supplies. Students feel more equality because all supplies are the same color, style, size, etc. Students also learn many social skills from sharing supplies. By purchasing supplies over the summer, our classrooms are set up and ready for the first day of school with the supplies that are needed.
